Force.com Toolkit for Adobe AIR and Flex
The new Force.com Toolkit for Adobe AIR and Flex makes it easy for developers to create rich Internet applications (RIAs) that take advantage of salesforce.com’s Force.com platform as a service. With the toolkit, Flex developers now have direct access to the Force.com web services APIs, allowing the easy creation of new user experiences and web applications that connect directly to Force.com’s database, logic and workflow capabilities. And, with the Adobe AIR component of the toolkit, information from Force.com’s database can automatically be made available offline, allowing developers to extend their Force.com applications with Adobe AIR applications that function without an Internet connection.
The Force.com Toolkit for Adobe AIR and Flex
Flex and Adobe AIR developers can use the Force.com Toolkit for Adobe AIR and Flex for creating rich Internet applications in the following ways:
- They can build entirely new Force.com applications with rich, interactive interfaces using Flex, and offline experiences using Adobe AIR.
- They can create desktop extensions to their Force.com applications that leverage Adobe AIR to let them access and update Force.com managed data while offline and disconnected from the Internet.
- They can extend and enhance existing Salesforce.com applications with new user experiences built using Flex and Adobe AIR
